Gannett (GCI) plans to cut 130 jobs at USA Today as part of a broad overhaul of the publication that will de-emphasize the print edition and increase its focus on reaching more readers via mobile devices.
The job cuts represent about 9% of the newspaper's 1,500-member workforce.
Among other changes, USA Today will no longer have separate managing editors for its news, sports, money and life sections.
